2 Metres Apart by Kristina Enberg
Designer-in-Chief Kristina reflects on how in one day normality changed into a disaster movie with no clear end, filmed as a continuous vertigo effect with the plot starting over every day. A cycle of repetitive uncertainty hoped to be broken through a change in social actions. Written by Covid-19 and produced by the government. The cast, the population of an entire country. All guided by the director, the local supermarket assistant.
Scene: A row of strangers standing outside, a silent queue in the rain. Faces hiding behind masks. The world painted in a dull grey from the heavy clouds above. Everybody accepting, as yesterday, and the day before. Everything is quiet. Everything is still. Waiting for the director's instruction. Then an exit, a nod and a hand wave. The queue moves 2 metres forward and stops. The dread of a silent killer filling the gaps.
